To help drive this imperative we are seeking to secure an experienced Telco Infrastructure Architect to be based in either Calgary or Houston.

This Infrastructure Architect role will have a primary focus on network architecture and will develop an enterprise-wide and global infrastructure architecture, focusing on the mapping of infrastructure capabilities to business needs. The Infrastructure Architect creates and maintains infrastructure architecture best practices, addressing application, data and technology in the context of business processes across the group. Specific accountabilities will include:
  
  • Developing and maintaining an Infrastructure Lifecycle definition and align all network infrastructure to that lifecycle approach;

  • Leadership direction and accountability for strategic infrastructure architecture plans, system design, and implementation

  • Leading the implementation of infrastructure, information and application standards and provide reference architectures when required;

  • Definition and maintenance of technology and integration models and current state information

  • Champion best-practice in Architecture governance and process (TOGAF frameworks) within the Global Enterprise Architecture team;

To be considered for this position you will be Degree qualified in CS/IS with a strong preference for post-graduate qualifications in a relevant business field. Specifically we require:
  
Expert technical competency with a range of network hardware, security and configuration topologies;

  • TOGAF certification and demonstrated success in adoption of architecture frameworks in a global organisation;

  • Hands on experience in developing enterprise grade solutions in infrastructure design, engineering and/or systems analysis;

Supervise the generation of operational procedures and best practices for deployment of Weatherford Completion products, and coordinate same with other Weatherford product and service lines.
Implement and execute a strict peer review and approval process of all documentation generated by the Field Applications Engineers.
Supervise the continuing education of Area Applications Engineers.
Provide local training on specific Lower Completions products and techniques to Sales and Operations in the Area as required.
Cooperate and coordinate with other Weatherford Product and Service lines for the integrated provision of multiple services to customers to mutual advantage.
Provide systematic communication with the Product Line Managers in the Lower Completions GBU, and with the Completions Global and US Training Managers.

Receives project work from manager or senior staff. Goals, priorities, and deadlines set by manager or senior staff;
Manages personal productivity; meets deadlines or effectively communicates if deadlines for some reason cannot be met;
Understands XRF and XRD theory and is familiar with instrumentation.
Understands inorganic elemental data and mineralogy as it relates to typical hydrocarbon reservoir rocks.
Operates standard computer programs (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Unistat, ODM, Isologica);
Becomes proficient with CoreTrac and other sample tracking methods;

Capable of doing all math including basic shop geometry and trigonometry.
Must run machine unsupervised.
Must run all parts which are of tight tolerance such as R.D. prototypes, various items that have a tighter tolerance such as + .002 and in some cases + .0005.
Must be able to run more than one piece of equipment as production requires.
Must furnish calibrated measurement instruments required by Weatherford for this position as per the attached listing.
Maintain neat house keeping.
Work assignments must be carried out to the highest quality level.
Must follow all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford.
Must comply with all requirements of Weatherfords Quality System Manual, Quality Procedures Manual, and Department Operating Procedures.
Perform various other duties required by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
Must be able to read blueprints.
Must be able to use all machinist devices and hand tools.
Capable of doing all math including basic shop geometry and trigonometry.
Ability to understand and proof out G-coded programs, as well as conversational programs along with some programming as needed.
Minimum 3-6 years experience on numerical controls.
The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations.
Ability to work night shift
