This position involves managing small to medium-sized air quality projects and working with teams on larger and more complex environmental projects. The successful candidate will be able to conduct and manage a myriad of air quality permitting and compliance projects primarily for industrial clients.
Primary Responsibilities include:
  • Supporting industrial clients in determining applicability of and developing strategies and systems for complying with state and federal air quality regulations
  • Evaluating pre-construction air quality permit needs and managing and preparing applications and documentation for exemption from permitting requirements
  • Calculating emissions and evaluating emissions control technologies
  • Preparing Title V Operating Permit applications
  • Preparing compliance reports
  • Interfacing with State air quality agencies, and EPA on behalf of industrial clients
  • Working collaboratively with engineering firms, equipment vendors, and attorneys in support of clients' needs on permitting and compliance issues
  • Developing various plans and documents in support of clients' regulatory requirements (e.g., Operating and Maintenance plans)
  • Performing QA/QC of technical work
  • Advocating for clients, keeping them informed of pertinent regulatory changes and other issues
  • Managing small to medium-sized projects and tasks
  • Preparing proposals for environmental support
  • Developing business for by networking including participating in professional trade associations and attending conferences and trade shows
  • Supporting business development activities by helping develop internal marketing materials and contributing technical articles to publications
  • Preparing papers and/or presentations for technical conferences or webinars
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Chemical, Environmental Engineering, or related science
  • 5-10 years of relevant air permitting experience
  • Prior environmental consulting experience and PE certification are considered a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills including report writing, oral presentations, and direct verbal communication
  • Experienced in interpreting and developing compliance strategies for State and Federal air quality regulations
  • Dispersion modeling experience and/or knowledge is considered a plus
  • Participate in EMS ISO 14001 Certification, review and improvment activities
  • Working knowledge of CMS
  • Availability to travel up to 20% of the time
  • Valid Texas driver's license
