Our client is seeking someone for a Lead Process Engineer position to work within their facilities located in the Billings, Montana.

The Role You Will Play
- The Lead Process Engineer will participate on or help lead a small team to develop and execute engineering projects in addition to playing a key part in helping to further expand the mid-continent, Midstream work for the company. This position will work directly with clients to provide technical service and hands-on troubleshooting, and help develop small to large projects from that work. The ideal candidate will have strong gas plant operations experience, great communication skills, and exceptional troubleshooting skills to turn problems into solutions.

Job Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and mentor a team of 1-3 process engineers
- Work directly with clients and front-line operations staff at operating plants to identify optimization and engineering opportunities, then further develop into projects
- Assist with marketing the company and provide business development support in the Midstream sector
- Interact directly with Project Management and other engineering disciplines
- Assist in developing process engineering scope of work and process hour estimates
- Develop staffing plans and schedules to complete process engineering work
- Develop the project design basis
- Participate in meetings with clients and the project team to establish project objectives and to coordinate and/or resolve design problems
- Coordinate process engineering reports, studies, calculations, P&IDs, equipment specifications, as well as review and approve vendor submittals
- Supervise, oversee, and coordinate engineering activities of team members, including Hysis and/or Pro II simulations; develop Process Flow and Process and Instrumentation Diagrams, equipment specifications, generation of information for instruments, and PSV audit files
- Participate and/or lead process safety reviews
- Review detailed chemical design of project for technical accuracy, compliance and feasibility to governing codes and client requirements
- Approve process deliverables prior to formal issue
- Manage project progress, make changes as needed as projects progress, man-hour requirements
- Interface with outside vendors
- Mentor less experienced process engineers
- Coordinate work sharing through multiple office sites

Required Background Profiles
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering
- 8+ years of professional experience
- 4+ years' experience within the Midstream sector, including gas pipeline and compression, gas plant design, and LNG process design
- 1+ years' experience in natural gas collection, gas plant operations
- Have worked a wide range of projects, both small and large capital projects, as well as Feasibility Stage engineering through to Detailed Stage engineering
- Have a detailed knowledge of company, client, and industry codes, specifications, and standards
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills, working with internal project discipline and external engineering and operations staff
- Be familiar with process safety reviews and layer of protection analysis
- Experience in Upstream Oil and Gas treating - process & utilities; Infield Pipeline; DOT Pipeline
- Applicant must be able to obtain a TWIC card
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening, alcohol screening, and background check
