Accountable for drilling projects and broad company drilling objectives. Integrates and develops processes that meet the drilling needs for domestic and international projects. Contributes to the overall company drilling strategy, long-range drilling planning and manages complex drilling project issues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leverages external industry network (operators and rig contractors) to secure rig capacity opportunities, including new contracts and rig sharing opportunities.
  • Builds strong internal network amongst business unit stakeholders to ensure proactive rig contracting strategies are implemented.
  • Locates or proposes potential business deals by contacting potential partners; discovering and exploring opportunities.
  • Provides leadership, communication, and coaching to employees; cultivates a motivated work environment of trust, teamwork, accountability, self-confidence, and business "ownership."
  • Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Seeks out and researches prospective projects through phone calls, traveling, attending conferences, and utilizing the Internet.
  • Proactively maintains relationships with various prospects, clients, and partners in the geothermal drilling and consulting industry.
  • When working with internal and external clients, plans, organizes, and directs activities to meet or exceed established goals in a cost-effective manner.
  • Applies proactive efforts to resolve all internal and external customer issues.
  • Keeps up to date on overall activities of the drilling, cementing, mud-logging and engineering operations so as to support the development of new business.
  • Effectively lead technical teams through drilling project definition and execution.
  • Successfully manage drilling projects across multiple functional groups.
  • Develop and execute objectives for self and others.
  • Be accountable for delivery of multiple drilling projects on-time, within budget expectations, with best-in-class quality.
  • As necessary, participates in the preparation and/or review of bids, process specifications, progress reports, contracts and other related exhibits that may be necessary or required.
  • Function as the "communication hub" to coordinate and drive drilling project delivery.
  • Manage international drilling projects as required.
  • Affect best-practice sharing across related drilling projects and associated teams.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • This position currently has no direct reports.
Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) required [Master's degree (MA, MBA) desirable but not required].
  • Minimum four (4) years related experience and drilling/mud logging experience.
Language Skills:
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills:
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference and algebraic formulas.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions in written, verbal, mathematical or diagrammatic form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills:
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of accounting Spreadsheet and Word Processing software.
