CO2 Operations Support Manager
LOCATION
Torrance, CA
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Proactively identify, develop and drive implementation of best operating practice to ensure minimum cost, consistent supply of product, safe operations, and quality.
- Ensure CO2 plants have appropriate engineering and operations documentation and that the documentation is maintained vie EMOC procedures.
- Identify continuous improvement projects, develop business cases and then manage the projects to the proper scope, schedule, and budget.
- Provide technical support and operational troubleshooting within the region and across regions when appropriate.
- Represent the region as a member of the RNA CO2 peer team. Ensure the region's issues are represented in annual plans and give regional buy in to annual plans.
- Ensure best practices are identified and shared across regions.
- Provide support across all regions in RNA in specific technical areas as agreed with the CO2 Technical Manager and the Region Support Manager.
- Manage efficiency, upgrade, or maintenance projects to ensure scope, schedule and budget are met.
- Lead root cause analysis, identify lessons learned and share findings with peer team to reduce recurrence of safety and process related incidents.
- Manage CO2 projects that require a special knowledge of beverage standards, CO2 industry and equipment knowledge to support the company’s number one position in the North America. Understanding the needs of the beverage industry is crucial in maintaining key customers like Coca-Cola at $24 million/year revenue.
- Maintain a technical expertise in areas pertinent to the CO2 business such as: gas analysis and the Premier Guard system, CO2 purification unit operations, controls, instrumentation, transport and CO2 depots, etc. Apply this expertise across RNA as appropriate.
- Be an advocate for change showing strong change leadership.
- Aid in securing new CO2 feed streams throughout the region.
- Aid in the development and review of annual budgets for CO2 operations in the region.
- Lead year-on-year improvements to drive costs out and improve production performance.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree - Mechanical or Chemical Engineering required.
- 10 - 15 years of engineering, operational and project management experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong knowledge of CO2 business / high level CO2 process knowledge.
- Willing to travel 25-50%.
- High level project and time management skills.
- Strong leadership, performance through people and influencing skills.
- Solid business case planning skills essential.
- Excellent oral and written communication.
- Effective change leadership.
