The Bayou Companies is looking for a Cost Accountant in New Iberia, LA The Bayou Companies, LLC, a subsidiary of Aegion Corporation, is a leading provider of cost-effective solutions to onshore and offshore energy and infrastructure companies primarily in North America and the Gulf of Mexico. Bayou’s products and services include internal and external pipeline coating, lining, weighting and insulation. Responsibilities: The Cost Accountant supplies exceptional financial analysis, reporting, planning and accounting support to Business Leadership of the The Bayou Companies. This position is located in New Iberia, LA. Develop and enhance cost models including the estimating models by working closely with the estimating and operations teams Work closely with project management teams to develop project variance analysis defining business implications and suggested actions Develop and enhance project cost models including the estimating models by working closely with estimating and operation teams Work with operation team to develop scheduling models that can be used to drive production and identify opportunities for revenue growth and production efficiency Analyze productivity data to identify cost savings and production opportunities Generate critical and complex financial analysis and ad hoc support to management team (including decision support, optimizing processes and procedures, etc.) Assist Business Leadership with accurate financial performance forecasts through a thorough understanding of the project activities Assist Controller and other accounting staff with month end close process Monitor standard costs, recommend new standard cost models for raw material and update all costs once a year or more frequently as required Provide management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products and services All other duties assigned Qualifications: Qualification Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in finance or accounting required A minimum of 3-5 years of related accounting experience required CPA or MBA preferred Working in percentage of completion accounting is preferred JD Edwards experience preferred Advanced Microsoft Excel modeling techniques and financial analysis tools and methods Knowledge of financial and other database reporting/query software Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills required We provide opportunity for career growth with competitive salary and excellent benefits package.
