Job Description:
The Client: Privately held and aggressively growing A&D focused E&P business which has recently closed out their third and largest fund which will be used to build up the companies upstream portfolio of assets. With this significantly large investment in the business, the team are looking to grow rapidly. The firm currently has over 1800 non-operated wells in the L48 and the company will be looking to increase this significantly in the near future. The company is lead by two highly reputable individuals with a significant track record in building and selling Oil & Gas investments and businesses. The company is looking for a ?hands on? Chief Accounting Officer. This position will report to the CEO and be responsible for all accounting functions and reporting. This position will also assist with supporting investor relations responsibilities. The Role: - Oversee with direct accountability for all accounting and financial reporting practices - Maintains a system of internal controls and procedures over accounting, financial reporting and disclosures to ensure the general ledgers, financial statements and disclosures are in accordance with United States GAAP. - Oversees Controller during the monthly close process - Reviews and disseminates financial reports - Coordinates annual audit and tax return preparation in conjunction with the company?s tax and auditor advisors - Assist with investor relations functions Minimum Requirements: - Bachelor?s degree in Accounting and a CPA - Master?s degree is preferred - Demonstrated success in either a Controller or Assistant Controller role within an oil & gas company - Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel - Hands on experience with accounting systems ?
