The Sales Executive/Account Manager carries out the sales strategy and objectives directed by management through a classifying system for time management of assigned accounts/clients/territories visitation to develop new and repeat business for the continued growth of the organization. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Effectively and efficiently manage all aspects of relationships with assigned accounts throughout the company's product lines
· Plan and execute personal visitation of assigned accounts/clients using the classifying and qualifying system of time management set up by management.
· Provide timely quotes to customers in accordance with the pricing and condition guidance from management
· Prepare sales objectives for visitation with specific clients - initial contact, maintenance, firm cargo development, project development, complaints, customer service, etc.
· Inform prospective clients of the services offered and report the future business potential with these clients in the proper format.
· Report all current and/or pertinent information in the proper format to all personnel involved in sales and operations throughout the organization that is acquired during client discussions and communication either through personal visitation or via telephone.
· Investigate and assist in resolving customer's problems that arrive either by phone, email, and face-to-face by interacting with any all internal departments functions and external service providers, contractors or agents as needed
· Communicate and coordinate politely with customers, agents, colleagues and subcontracted service providers whether through email, phone, and face to face
· Fully utilize all the company's tools and system applications, e.g. but not limited to CRM, iShips, MS Outlook, IQ, etc.
· Appropriately and effectively obtain customer feedback on service, and then effectively share this information per company policy and procedure
· Prepare shipping documents such as cargo inquiries and booking notes by filling out the appropriate forms or entering data into company systems.
· Follow up on leads and cargo inquiries and report on the development and status to appropriate personnel.
· Receive and checks customer complaints, referring complaints to designated departments and management for investigation and appropriate action.
· Confer with traffic, documentation, sales, operations or other company personnel to expedite and trace missing or delayed shipments and handle any problems.
· Manage expenses incurred from the travel and entertainment associated with the assigned accounts and submits timely expense reports for reimbursement.
· Continuously learn and develop professionally and increase personal understanding of company's products and services
· Meet all established performance goals and objectives
· Ensure customer retention and general satisfaction
· Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Additional responsibilities:
· Adhere to all company policies and procedures, with special note to the Code of Conduct and HSE policies & procedures
· Attend industry events and training as required by company
· Travel as required - moderate level: <10%
· Monitor industry trends and competitor activities and share acquired information with colleagues
· Maintain a positive work attitude & a collaborative disposition
· Support additional project initiatives as assigned by management
Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four year college or university; 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Solid work history. Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as contracts, shipping documents, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of clients or employees of organization. Other Skills and Abilities Familiarity with maritime industry terms and concepts. Proficient with word processors, spreadsheets and accounting software. Translate Spanish to English desirable but not required.
