Position Summary

The Cost Accountant performs Month-end Closing process for Gulf of Mexico and/or International Business Including Journal Entries.
|

Duties & Responsibilities
|
| |
- Working with Project Managers to maintain project costs, and ensure accurate estimates at completion
- Maintain and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs
- Forecast and Budget upload into PeopleSoft System
- Tax journal entries on international business
- Maintain records of assets, liabilities, profit/loss, tax liability, or other financial activities
- Month end analysis (ie: Flux Analysis)
- Prepare monthly reporting for flash meeting
- Create/Maintain PeopleSoft tree’s
- Review balance sheets, expense accounts, and operating income to confirm institution assets and liabilities
- Maintain international account reconciliation
- Review monthly international reimbursable
- Inter-company transactions/revenue transfers
- Run financial reporting for hard close
- Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports
- Comply with federal, state and company policies, procedures, and regulations

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and three (3) to five (5) years of experience required. Experience to include: General Ledger or Cost Accounting
Preferred experience
Project Cost Accounting, Inter-Company Accounting, and knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley
