The work is in support of Saudi Aramco's offshore existing field development program. A typical year's work will result in over USD 1billion worth of capital investment and in excess of 1,000,000 man hours of engineering and construction support.The scope of the work covered is construction bid package preparation, material take-off and requisitioning and leading to complete construction detail engineering design and drawings. Electrical Design Supervisor Primary Objective Preform design drafting activities and conduct site surveys associated with Oil & Gas production within defined parameters under general direction, and supervise a design drafting team activities. Specific Objective • Design Estimates • Setup and control of project files • Co-ordination of design information between disciplines • Conduct site surveys to verify field conditions • Production of conceptual layouts • Production of design drawings • Checking of design drawings • Initiation of squad checks • Generation of Material Take Off 's • Assist with responses to Construction and Client queries Specific Accountabilities • Working within budgeted man-hours • Working to a given schedule • Accuracy of design documentation and Material Take Off 's • Advising the Lead Engineer promptly when information and scope deviations arise • Working to and using the company management systems • Compliance to company, client, local and international standards. • Quality Assurance - Understanding and adherence of Quality Assurance systems. • Safety - Responsible for personal safety and safe working practices. Essential Skills/Experience Essential: Ten years plus Oil and Gas industry experience; Offshore experience preferred. Working knowledge of Intergraph PDS Raceways, Equipment Modelling, SmartPlant Electrical and Bentley MicroStation are preferred prerequisites, SmartPlant 3D experience would be advantageous going forward. Ability to create accurate design drawings from base project information, provide precise estimates. Competently use Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint. Desirable: Experience with other advanced engineering design and data systems such as SmartPlant Foundation, SmartPlant Materials, SmartPlant P&ID, and SmartPlant Instrumentation. Matching Indicators Essential: Secondary school graduation. Tertiary qualification or related industry technical institute certificate/ diploma or equivalent. Self-motivated, Inventive design skills, Drafting, Layout and Graphical Skills, Budget and achievement focused, a Team Player. Competencies Estimating, Conceptual Design, Drawing Production, Mathematics, Computing, Graphical Presentation, Communication in English (verbal and written).
