
POSITION SUMMARY
This position will assist in Mexico tax planning and research. With direction from the Tax Supervisor will ensure compliances with local tax laws, and assist in preparing the annual budget and tax accruals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS will include the following:
· Prepare and file monthly and quarterly sales/use tax returns by analysing invoices and general ledger accounts.
· Prepare and file corporate annual reports, escheat reports, draft audit reports, business contractor licenses and miscellaneous reports for various states.
· Verify accurate coding on invoices.
· Assist in audits by locating and copying invoices and other data requested by auditors.
· Gathers and provides property tax data to outside consultant and monitors assessments and payments of property taxes.
· Supports federal and state income tax return preparation and tax audits.
· Assist the Tax Supervisor Mexico
· Maintain department information and records.
· Review abandoned property accounts, prepare and file applicable escheat returns for appropriate states.
· Maintain chart of state holding periods.
· Provide support to Accounts Payable for their preparation of Form 1099's and the filing of required data with the IRS.
· Adheres to Company's policies and procedures.
· Other duties and special projects as assigned.

- Must be a High School graduate.
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or equivalent, is preferred.
- Must be proficient in math equal to college level.
- Should have at least 2 years of experience in accounting.
- Must have knowledge of tax accounting rules and regulations.
- Must be a detail oriented, self-starter and able to work with little supervision while maintaining goals/tasks.
- Must have excellent PC skills to include all MS Office products.

- Must have good written and verbal communication skills and able to effectively communicate in a professional manner with staff, management, customers and vendors.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. Hearing, seeing ability to include depth perception, peripheral vision and rapid mental coordination. It is required to be mentally alert for entire regular shift.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position may work in Villahermosa Mexico locations. Some locations may be subject to extreme temperatures, hostile environments, civil unrest, etc. Also, travel to and from work location may require extended layovers in unfamiliar locations. Potential for exposure to temperature changes, wetness, confined spaces, chemicals, grease and oil, working with ladder/scaffolds, working with hands in water, and working alone. Parker Drilling will supply adequate training and equipment to meet the functions of the job.
